The power and simplicity of Apple Maps is available on your dashboard. CarPlay can predict where you're going using addresses from your email, text messages, contacts, and calendar. You can search along your route for nearby gas stations, restaurants, coffee shops, and more. Or just use your voice: "Siri, where's the closest EV charging station?" And CarPlay does not just guide you - it helps get you there safely by advising which lane to be in turn, and showing the speed limit.
Make calls, return missed calls, and listen to voicemail. Siri can help you do all of these things. All you have to do is ask.
Siri can read, reply, and send text messages for you, so you never have to look at your iPhone while driving. Just say "Siri, tell Blair I'll be there in 20 minutes," and it's done. CarPlay can also play audio messages through the car's speakers.
Access all your content from iTunes, your Apple Music membership, and additional audio apps using your car's built-in controls. Search by artist, album, or song. See what's playing and what's up next. You can ask Siri to play your favorite song by Arcade Fire, or act as your personal DJ.
CarPlay supports other apps on your iPhone - like your favorite audio, messaging, and voice apps. Apps developed by car manufacturers are also supported, so you can control more of your car's features without ever leaving CarPlay. 1 You can personalize your experience by rearranging exactly how your apps appear in CarPlay through settings on your iPhone.

What is Apple CarPlay?
Apple CarPlay is a system that allows you to view content from your iPhone on your car’s infotainment screen. It also means you can make calls, listen to music, use sat-nav and dictate text messages on your iPhone without taking your hands off the steering wheel.
Users connect their iPhone to the car either by using a USB port or via a Bluetooth connection.
As well as Apple’s own phone, messaging, iTunes and maps apps, third-party apps including Spotify, Audible and Stitcher are currently supported, with that list expected to grow as the technology develops.
Drivers Apple Control CarPlay in the same way as they would the car's own infotainment system, by using buttons, rotary dials and a touchscreen if fitted. As well as this, Apple's Siri service allows drivers to issue voice commands, including dictating messages to be sent via the iPhone. The system can also read incoming messages.
